1. Seaman Recruit: Cadets enter the program at this. |
2. Seaman Apprentice: After 2 months in the Corps and having met the requirments you may be advanced to this. |
3. Seaman: After 6 months in the Corps and having met the requirments you may be advanced to this. |
4. Petty Officer 3rd Class: After 8 months in the Corps and having met the requirments you may be advanced to this. |
5. Petty Officer 2nd Class: After 1 year in the Corps and having met the requirments you may be advanced to this. |
6. Petty Officer 1st Class: After 2 months as a PO2 and having met the requirments you may be advanced to this. |
7. Chief Petty Officer: After 2 years in the Corps and having met the requirments you may be advanced to this. |
8. Senior Chief Petty Officer: Currently Unavailable, this is a new offical rate and I don't know yet. |
9. Master Chief Petty Officer: Currently Unavailable, this is a new offical rate and I don't know yet. |

Officer Ranks in order.
1. Ensign: After being advanced through CPO or MCPO certain Cadets are selected to be promoted to this. |
2. Lieutentant Junior Grade: Certain Cadets are selected to be promoted to this. |
3. Lieutentant: Certain Cadets are promoted to this after LT JG. |
4. Lieutentant Commander: Selected Cadets are promoted to this after LT. In a Company (100-150 Cadets) this is the highest rank that can be reached, only the Company Commanding Officer holds it. |
5. *Commander: This rank is only acheived if you are in a unit that is a Battalion (151-299 Cadets) or bigger. It is the highest rank in a Battalion, only the Battalion Commanding Officer holds it. |
6. *Captain: This rank is only acheived if you are in a unit that is a Regiment (300+ Cadets). It is not only the highest rank that can be reached in a Regiment but, it is the highest rank that can be reached in the NJROTC program. This is only held buy the Regiment Commanding Officer. |
